Ballycastle Integrated Primary School

In celebration of World Book Day 2018, Libraries NI welcomed award winning children's author 'Emma Carroll', to meet local P7 pupils at Ballycastle Library. Emma is the author of several novels for upper primary children. Letters From The Lighthouse, published in 2017 won the Books Are My Bag Award for Best Middle Grade Book of 2017, a big national book award, sponsored by National Book Tokens. Emma gave our pupils, along with pupils from St Mary's, Rathlin and Gaelscoil an Chaistil, Ballycastle, a very interesting presentation about how she got into writing and about what inspired her to write Letters From The Lighthouse. She also gave the pupils an opportunity to interview her and then autographed copies of her books, which the children purchased. For more photographs of our morning, visit our Gallery.
