P5

In September, P5 pupils from both schools met at Ballycastle Forest for the first part of our John Muir Award. For the first element of the award, pupils had to discover a wild place. For us, it was the forest. Daniel, our very own building supervisor, who is also a ranger for the Glen's Red Squirrel Group lead our visit. He taught us lots about the plants, trees and wildlife which make up this lovely forest. It was a super morning getting to know more about this local habitat, but also great to meet up with our friends from St. Patrick's and St. Brigid's. When the weather improves in Spring, we will meet up again for the "Discover" and "Conserve" aspects.
