Tillie retires after 11 years of service

26 March 2018 (by ballycastle)

Today in school we said a fond farewell to Tillie Kane who retired as a cleaner in the school after working here for 11 years. We held a special assembly in school this morning to mark the end of an era.

Tillie took up the post as cleaner in late 2007 when there were 100 pupils in school. She has seen many changes over the years and with our current enrolment at 200, Tillie has had a lot more hoovering to do!! Tillie always took great pride in her work which was clear to see in the way the school shone like a new pin, she was hard working loyal and a very popular member of staff. Today we presented Tillie with some jewellery, a voucher and a picture of the school. A bouquet of flowers will be delivered to her home tomorrow. Included in the photo is Tillie's husband Malcolm and Mrs Patterson, our Senior Teacher along with Mrs Evans. We wish Tillie a happy and healthy retirement with Malcolm and hope they enjoy the years ahead taking it easy and spending time with their grandchildren.
